On October 30th, over 60 students from high schools located in the Los Angeles Archdiocese partnered with Knights and Dames of the Order of Malta and the Order of Malta Mobile Ministries to assemble and package 10,000 protein-rich meals to mark the launch of Operation Beat Hunger. The protein-dense meals, along with fresh produce, will be distributed through partnering food pantries during the weeks leading to Thanksgiving.

We can’t solve homelessness, but if you pick your shots, and keep moving in the right direction, then we can make a difference.” - Mike Psomas, Western Association Hospitaller

The all-volunteer effort expands upon the Order’s fresh produce program, begun last year in response to pandemic-related hunger. Once the meals were packed and ready, volunteers loaded them into the Order of Malta Mobile Ministries units to be delivered.
