On Saturday March 2nd the Boise Area members partnered with the Boise Area Auxiliary to put together twenty New Mama Boxes for Birthright.  Boise Area Auxiliary President Katie Pieplow coordinated with Birthright in Meridian, Idaho to spearhead this project for the Auxiliary.  Birthright is one of the first pregnancy resource centers in the world that provides a safe haven for pregnant mothers to help them make a realistic plan for the future of their unborn child and the future of themselves as a mother.  The Meridian, Idaho location provides assistance to approximately new 35 mothers to be annually and ongoing support and assistance to 200 client mothers plus per month .

Each of these new mama boxes include seventeen items chosen with care and love that are given to each mama to provide hope and love and let each mother to be know they are not alone on their journey of motherhood.   Each box is personalized with a private message and is individually prayed over.  Each preparer asks God to shower the recipient with love, mercy and grace as she embarks on her role of motherhood, and asks God to protect her baby and family.

Services include information on pregnancy, child birth, adoption, prenatal care, community programs, parenting skills, and child care.  In addition referrals  for medical support, financial resources, housing, legal, social assistance, and counseling are available.

Birthright began in Canada in 1968 and was established in Boise in 1977.

Kudos to Katie for putting together this most inspiring project and allowing the Order of Malta Boise Area Members to participate.
