On Monday, Members of the Order of Malta in Los Angeles partnered with St. Brendan Church and LA County to administer 122 flu vaccines on the World Day of the Poor. As we approach the colder months where the flu is more prominent, Los Angeles Location Members of the Western Association have been proactive in assisting medical experts in administering the flu shot to members of the community.
Pope Francis established the World Day of the Poor in 2017 in his Apostolic Letter, Misericordia et Misera. The message and meaning of the World Day of the Poor perfectly aligned with the mission and charisms of the Order of Malta: to witness the faith and to serve the poor and the sick.
