Recently, Western Association members, Joe Sanders, Ann Sanders, Jane and Bob Kilmartin worked alongside the Green Bay Knights and Dames at the Shrine of Our Lady of Good Help. They provided hospitality and first aid to over 3,000 walkers on the Walk to Mary, a 21-mile walk from National Shrine of St. Joseph to the Shrine of Our Lady of Good Help. 50 people were attended too by the Order of Malta doctors and nurses from the Hospitality and First Aid Center run by the three US Associations. They also had EMT’s and an ambulance on site.
The rest of the Members passed out medals to everyone at the finish line. Regarding the walk itself, there are levels for everyone, from children to grandparents. A total of 5,000 people attended three different Masses at the conclusion of the walk.
It was an amazing day for the Catholic community of Wisconsin, pilgrims to the Shrine, and all involved.
The Western Association needs to support this event with walkers, and workers, it’s an event that shouldn’t be missed.
