Thank you for your interest in participating in the Order of Malta 2024 Summer Teen Pilgrimage to Lourdes, France. The Summer Teen Pilgrimage is a demanding, amazing experience designed for teenagers to experience the full Grace of our Lady through service, spiritual activities, and cultural experiences.

The Pilgrimage will depart from Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) on July 2, 2024 and will return on July 10, 2024.  The trip will be led by Steve and Amy Jerome who have been to Lourdes 10 and 6 times respectively and will consist of approximately 16 high school students (ages 16-18) from around the western United States.  In addition to the Jerome’s, at least 6 additional chaperones and a Chaplain will accompany the Pilgrimage.

The cost of the trip is $3,400 and includes all travel from LAX, lodging, food, uniforms and site-seeing activities.  In order to be considered for the trip, a completed application package must be submitted by February 10, 2024 and consists of the following documents.

As part of the application, we would like for you to research the life of St. Bernadette and the Marian apparitions she experienced at Lourdes.  You will submit a 250 word essay reflecting on St. Bernadette and why you feel you are being called to participate in this Pilgrimage.

2024 Summer Teen Pilgrimage Application

Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis by the selection committee and in-person interviews will be scheduled.  Invitations to participate in the Pilgrimage will be made in mid to late February 2024.  To accept the invitation, the successful candidate must submit a deposit of $1,500 by March 1, 2024 and pay the remainder by no later than May 1, 2024.  A limited amount of financial aid is available based on need. Partial refunds may be made for cancellations up through May 1, 2024.
