Since April 2022, the Boise Area has been assisting families and their babies in need by pulling and packing diapers for eighteen non-profit organizations (including Catholic Charities of Idaho).  Members Charles Corbalis, KM, Mary Curry, DM, Susan Karpiel, DM, and Marty Karpiel, KM, along with family and friends, gather at the Idaho Diaper Bank warehouse to fulfill these diaper orders.  On average 60,000 diapers are pulled and packed each month (almost 800,000 per annum).  In November 2022 we packed over 90,000 diapers for the community; ; December was dark, and in January the Boise Area pulled and packed over 60,000 diapers.  Once the orders are fulfilled, these organizations then come and pick up diaper orders (i.e. usually the next day) and distribute them to their families in need.  Over 1500 babies are served per month.

With almost 50% of children in Idaho under the age of three living in poor or low income families, there are 35,000+ families likely struggling to provide basic necessities like food, shelter, and hygiene.  Hence, there are just not enough diapers being distributed through Idaho's social safety net.  Diapers are expensive and can cost over $100 per month.  Many families can no longer afford diapers due to the increased cost of food, housing, transportation etc.  This is compounded by the fact that diapers cannot be purchased with food stamps or WIC funds.

The State of Idaho has banned all abortions and to date the State of Idaho has won all challenges and lawsuits argued before the Idaho Supreme Court.

We are very humbled and blessed to be able to help Idaho Diaper Bank.  They have become the Boise Area’s signature ministry.
