"Neither snow nor rain nor heat nor gloom of night” stays these Knights “from the swift completion of their appointed rounds.” – Herodotus

Amid rainstorms the likes of which drought-ridden Southern California hasn’t seen in years, the Order of Malta Mobile Ministries and LA Location volunteers delivered thousands of pounds of fresh fruits and vegetables to local pantry services including St. Peter’s Italian Church in Los Angeles, the Pasadena Senior Center, and the San Juan Diego House in El Monte. “We delivered fresh green beans, Brussels sprouts, eggplant, bell peppers, romaine lettuce, tomatillos, watermelon, jicama, mangos, broccoli and even cheese spread,” said Tim Shannon, KM and President of the Order of Malta Mobile Ministries.

The heavy rain didn’t dampen the spirits of the wonderful guests who were happy to receive the fresh produce.

“Rain or Southern California shine,” said Vince Farhat, KM and LA Location Hospitaller, “the Order of Malta is grateful to support the poor and needy in our community.”
