LA and Orange County Lourdes Pilgrims Honor Mark Tiernan, KM and Pilgrimage Director

This past Saturday, April 1, the White Team (Los Angeles) and Orange Team (Orange County) gathered for the 2023 Lourdes Orientation at Holy Family Catholic Cathedral in Orange. The teams presented Mark Tiernan, KM and Pilgrimage Director for the past four years, a lithograph image of Order of Malta pilgrims processing to the Basilica of the Immaculate Conception in Lourdes. The original artwork was painted by Pamela Dow, DM of the Order of Malta Orange County Location.

For four years, Mark Tiernan has led well over a thousand Pilgrims to the Shrine of Our Lady – two of those years marked by the COVID pandemic. His courage, deft management, and devotion to Our Lady and our Malades made possible the Lourdes Pilgrimage in September 2021 -- the only Order of Malta association to make the Pilgrimage that year. “We are deeply gratefully for Mark’s leadership, and we would like this painting to remind him of the many wondrous and beautiful moments we have all shared over the years,” said Mike Psomas, KM, White Team captain and Hospitaller of the Western Association.
