Dear Members of the Western Association:
I am pleased to report that the Western Association has joined the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops Coalition of Catholic Organizations Against Human Trafficking, which is the capstone to an effort over more than two years by Ken Hurley and the Hospitaller Committee to identify key areas of social need in which our Knights, Dames, and volunteers can make a difference. Raising awareness of the reality of human trafficking in our country and assisting those who are in recovery are goals of all three U.S. Associations and a worldwide priority for the Order of Malta.
Next Monday, February 8th, will be an important day of prayer and listening. This is your invitation to participate online in the International Day of Prayer and Awareness, beginning at 7:15 AM and ending at 10:00 AM. Please register by clicking on the link HERE.
In additional to those events, the San Francisco Archdiocese will be sponsoring a rosary at 6:30 PM. This is part of the SF Archdiocese Human Trafficking Webinar series. You can see the flyer HERE.
Thank you for your prayers and service to our lords, the poor and sick.
Confraternally,
Michael GracePresident |
